Meeting with Mr. Christian Saublens, General Manager of EURADA

Ms. Simona Marzetti, INSME Secretary General, and the newly to be appointed Secretary General of the INSME Association, Ms. Christin Pfeiffer (in charge from January 2012), met Mr. Christian Saublens, General Manager of EURADA, in Rome on 19th December 2011 in order to discuss about the 8th INSME Annual Meeting 2012 in Daejeon and to find new ways to create more fruitful synergies in the future between INSME and EURADA.

Meeting with representatives from the Chamber of Commerce of Manizales and the Chamber of Commerce of Pereira from Colombia

Ms. Simona Marzetti, INSME Secretary General, met last October in Rome a high level delegation from Colombia (Chamber of Commerce of Manizales, Chamber of Commerce of Pereira), in order to identify synergies and opportunities for mutual benefits with regard to potential joint initiatives in the field of SME innovation and SME competitiveness, also with a view to explore the possibility of organizing in the future a joint international SME Congress in Colombia.
The delegation was accompanied by Abcnet (INSME Observer) and was in Itay on the occasion of the Rome Forum on the initiatives and opportunities of cooperation between Italy and Colombia.

Meeting with Representatives from EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation

In late October, the INSME Secretary General met in Rome Mr. Toshiyasu ICHIOKA, PhD Project manager J-BILAT of the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation in order to learn more about opportunities of science and technology cooperation between Japan and EU members.

Meeting with Representatives from UNECE- United Nations Economic Commission for Europe

INSME Secretary General met in Rome a delegation from UNECE- United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, INSME Member. During the meeting they discussed about the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Integration -CECI activities, the results of the CECI Biennal Evaluation 2010-2011, the CECI Programme of Work 2012-2013 and the forthcoming CECI session (to be held on the 30 November- 02 December 2011).

Meeting with Representatives from ECSA and Geosystems company

INSME Secretary General met at INSME headquarters Prof Eugenio Corti, INSME Member representing ECSA and Ms. Diodora Costantini, CEO of Geosystems company based in Benevento, Campania region, Italy. The meeting was aimed to present INSME to Geosystems and find ways to create synergies with regard to developing international contacts and to increase INSME marketing in Southern Italy thanks to the connections that ECSA and geosystems have developed over years especially with the business associations representing SMEs.

The INSME Secretary General met Mr. Marcelo Evangelista, head of the International Division of the Project of Technical Assistance to the Central American Common Market (ALT-CONSUAC), at the INSME premises in Rome. Meeting between INSME and the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI)

On the 23rd September 2010, at the INSME premises in Rome, the INSME Secretary General met for the first time with representatives from Create-NET, a main promoter of the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI). EAI is a newly established grass-roots network of European and non-European industries, researchers, governmental and non-governmental organisations, aiming to drive innovation specifically in the ICT sector. INSME and EAI envisaged possible ways of collaboration, starting with EAI involvement in the agenda of the 7th INSME Annual Meeting taking place in Helsinki (Finland) on 23rd -26th May 2011.

Meeting of the INSME Vice President with the World Technopolis Association (WTA)
Hsinchu City, Chinese Taipei
With a view to strengthen mutual collaboration with the World Technopolis Association - WTA, the INSME Vice President, Dr. Raimund Broechler, participated at the 7th WTA General Assembly and International Conference on "Science City's Sustainable Development in the Era of Global Climate Change". This event, which had the participation of over 500 people from 36 WTA Members in 27 countries, was held on September 1-4, 2010, in Hsinchu City, Chinese Taipei.

The Workshop on Business & Technology Cooperation Opportunities co-organised by the INSME Association and the EU Project Incubation Centre (EUPIC) in collaboration with ASIA - Business Incubators Development Association (INSME Member), at the INSME premises in Rome, tackled ways of future collaboration activities with EUPIC, also with the view of promoting the participation of EU companies at the 5th EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair and at the 2nd EU China Green Technology & Business Week to be held on October 17-21, 2010, in Chengdu (P.R. China).
